August brought a bunch of new overhanging routes to AZR. All of the steepest walls were re-set, including the Southeast cave, Arch, Lead cave and Right of the lead cave. Plenty of jug hauling on the easier routes and powerful tension moves on the harder routes. After a ton of rope setting the setters shifted gears into the backside bouldering area where they are still working on filling it in with new creative routes.
For September the setters will be finishing up the backside bouldering area followed by starting the rope rotation over on the double arete wall on the west side of the gym. All the rope walls on the west side will be full of new routes by the end of September.
