"This moment is all there is." -Rumi
We talk about "this moment" so often in our yoga practice and many times while we are practicing we reach the point where we actually can be present and enjoy "just this" in class. However, these moments of recognizing the present I think for most of us, are few and far between. Many of us get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, checking off the things on our to do list, thinking about what didn't go right, trying to figure out what will happen next, that we MISS OUT on what is right in front of us-the present, and sometimes regret that we didn't notice, celebrate and enjoy the gift of "this moment."
With that being said, we want to take the time celebrate as well as enjoy our 2 year anniversary and invite you to join in our celebration. In order to 'Light Your Candle' and celebrate 2 years with Yoga on the Rocks, we are offering a 2 for 1 special! You and a friend can enjoy UNLIMITED yoga for $250! This special pricing is only available from June 1st-June 30th, and your unlimited membership is only valid until August 31st. As an added bonus, when you sign up to 'Light Your Candle' you and your friend will receive a Yoga on the Rocks/AZ on the Rocks tumbler to sport around town. But this is only the beginning. From Monday June 10th-Sunday June 16th, each day that you come to class you will be entered into a drawing. A winner will be picked each day to pick one of our awesome t-shirts! From Friday June 14th-Sunday June 16th we will be offering classes for only $2 each! This is the perfect time to bring a friend to try us out. We also will be giving all students who come to class on Sunday June 16th an anniversary gift!
There are some new faces around Yoga on the Rocks, we'd like to take a moment and introduce you. First, we have a new manager, Bethanie Vanasse. Bethanie is currently a stay at home mom to her 4 children, and has been married to her husband Paul for 11 years. She enjoys working out, practicing yoga and hiking. One of her greatest passions is serving others and helping them recognize their worth. Bethanie has been practicing yoga for close to 3 years now and hopes to get certified in the future. She is also working towards being a certified cycle instructor. Her faith in God is strong she believes in her hear that we are all "here on purpose." She has taken on being the eyes and ears of Yoga on the Rocks, as well as many of the responsibilities previously performed by Rachel. Rest assured, both Rachel and Erica are helping her out during this transition time. Please take a moment to say hi and introduce yourself to Bethanie and welcome her to the Yoga on the Rocks family.
Next, we have several new teachers...
Lacey Church took her first yoga class when she was 12 years old, and has been hooked ever since. Yoga has helped her maintain clarity and balance throughout her life thus far, and this is something she strives to give her students in every class. She completed her 500-hour training in 2009 and emphasizes authentic yogic teachings in her classes. Using a combination of poses, philosophy and breath, Lacey's classes will leave you feeling inspired and light.
Tammy Gatten is a graduate of Yoga Pura's 500-hour teacher training, under the guidance of Yogi E (a.k.a. Eric Walrabenstein). She has also attended continuing training and education at the Southwest Institute for Healing Arts, and Yoga Nidra Certification through Yoga Pura. Tammy is committed to the well being of her students through mindful instruction, gentle adjustments, and connecting daily life into intentions to be applied on and off the mat. Whatever the class, students will be cared for and loved in their mind, body and soul. When Tammy is not teaching yoga, she enjoys every minute she can spend with her husband, 2 dogs and their 2 'adult' boys.
When Laura Rankal took her first yoga class in 2006, she knew there was no looking back. Her passion ignited, she then turned to Yoga Pura's 500-hour Advanced Studies & Teacher Training program as a way to deepen her own practice and share the gifts of yoga with others. Laura continues to be amazed by the healing and transformation that has occurred in her life off the mat as a result of her practice, and loves to share her enthusiasm with her students, both young and young at heart. Laura's classes blend a genuine love of the practice, detailed attention to alignment, integration of yogic philosophy and concepts into every day life, with a joyful approach. Recognizing the power that yoga has had with her own daughter, Laura has become a tireless advocate for yoga for children. She has helped to train and mentor many valley yoga teachers in her role as a mentor for the Yoga Pura teacher training program and is a certified Yoga Nidra Facilitator. When not practicing, teaching and mentoring, Laura dedicates her time to her loving family.
Please take the time to say hello and take a class or 2 with these beautiful new teachers of ours!
