Ninja Competitions and Results

August 20, 2017 Competition


Registration:

Places are limited (30 for each competition), so we encourage early registration.


Three competitions:

  1. Under age 12 (Junior), starting at 10:00 am
  2. Ages 12-15 (Youth), starting at 12:30 pm
  3. Age 16 and over (Open), starting at 3:00 pm 
Contestants who want to compete in the next age group (for example a 14 year-old may compete in the Open competition) may do so but contestants may only register for one group.

The top boy and girl in the Junior competition will qualify for the Youth competition and the top boy and girl in the Youth competition will qualify for the Open competition.

Entry Fee:

  • Junior: $10
  • Youth: $15
  • Open: $35
If space is available, entries will be accepted on the day of the competition with an additional $5 fee.





Prizes:

  • Non-cash prizes for Juniors, cash and non-cash for Youth and Open categories. Amounts will depend on the number of entries.

Course:

  • The course will be set on the day of the competition 
  • A demonstration of the course, along with specific run regulations will be held prior to each event
  • One do-over will be permitted in each run (Stage 1 only for Open group): a competitor may fail one obstacle without penalty and redo that obstacle
  • Time limits will apply in each competition
  • Contestants will be judged on number of completed obstacles and time taken

Under 12 (10:00 am start time)

  • One stage
  • 2 1/2 minute time limit
  • 6 obstacles

12-15 (12:30 pm start time)

  • Two stages
  • 3 minute time limit for Stage 1
  • 8 obstacles
  • If more than one contestant clears Stage 1, winner to be decided by Stage 2

Open (3:00 pm start time)

  • Four stages
  • Stage 1: 7 obstacles, Stage 2: 11 obstacles, Stage 3: 7 obstacles; Stage 4: 1 obstacle
  • One half of the contestants will progress to stage 2, based on number of completed obstacles and time taken
  • Contestants who clear Stage 2 will progress to Stage 3
  • If more than one contestant clears Stage 3, winner to be decided by Stage 4 
  • 2 1/2 minute time limit for Stage 1, no time limit for subsequent stages. Maximum of 25 seconds rest between obstacles
  • No do-overs permitted after Stage 1
